EARLY DAY FARM RESIDENT DIES

William Hilby, 86, who homesteaded on Moran Prairie 61 years ago, died yesterday at the ranch home.
A few years after Hilby arrived on the prairie, he married Blanche Kirby, who survives him. She was the daughter of Philip Kirby, one of the earliest pioneers of the Spokane area. The couple reared a large family.
The sons surviving are Charles M. Hilby, Spokane; Philip E. Hilby, Sharon; William L. Hilby, Valleyford; Robert H. Hilby, at the home; Joseph E. Hilby, Sharon; Sylvester L. Hilby, Kalama.
The daughters are Mrs. F. B. Freter, Sharon; Mrs. B. L. Marget, Orchard Avenue; and Mrs. H. E. Hubenthal, Spokane. The body is at Hazen Jaeger's.
