Louis was the grandson of Jacob Blankenhorn, b. Apr. 10, 1807 in Frankenthal-Rhei, Bavaria and d. Sep. 20, 1890 in Poughkeepsie NY &
Barbara Joest (Yost), b. Oct. 17, 1817 in Wattenheim-Rhein, Bavaria and d. Sep. 26, 1894 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Jacob and Barbara emigrated from Ulm in Bavaria to the U. S. in the late 1840's. Jacob & Barbara had nine children. Their son, Louis was David's father.
(*Note: Catharine Blankenhorn, daughter of Jacob & Barbara Blankenhorn, was b. May 11, 1842 and baptized in Christ Church, Poughkeepsie, NY., Feb. 8, 1846. John Charles Blankenhorn, son of Jacob & Barbara Blankenhorn, was born Nov. 30, 1844, and baptized in the same church Feb. 8, 1846.)

BLANKENHORN - Louis McLaughlin Blankenhorn, husband of Ruth A. Blankenhorn, 1202 Arden Road, passed away April 6, 1943. Besides his wife, he is survived by
Two daughters, Mary and Barbara Blankenhorn;
a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert Harrison MacLeod;
a stepson, Edward Anderson Wheeler;
a granddaughter, Ruth McLeod;
two brothers, George Stevens Blankenhorn and Maj. David Philip Blankenhorn, U. S. A.;
one sister, Mrs. Arthur Walser;
two nephews, David and John Blankenhorn;
and an aunt, Mrs. Charles Ordway, Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be held at 12 o'clock noon Thursday at All Saints' Episcopal Church. Please do not send any flowers. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Turner and Stevens Co., Director.
