Ralph had a passion for the working class and the U.S. Marine Corps. He was married to Delphine, and the father of David, Pamela, Lynn and Valerie. He was a 27-year veteran of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, former president of Council 12 and Council 23, and former chairman of the Macomb County Democratic Party. He retired from his job in 1991, but continued to work tirelessly for the union workers at AFSCME, as well as the Macomb County Board of Commissioners. A veteran of WWII, he'd been a commando in an elite outfit, serving in Guadalcanal. He enjoyed swing dancing. Cause of death: Cancer.
