Francis B. Stoner

Francis Benjamin Stoner, 456 Giulford Avenue, died at Garlock Convalescent Memorial Home, Sunday at 6:40 a.m. after an illness of three years. He was 76 years old.

Born and reared in the Leitersburg District, he was the son of Jacob B. and Elizabeth O. (Tritle) Stoner.

He spent his early life on a farm, then became associated with the Crawford and Dagmar Motor Car Company in 1905. He was employed there for 30 years, serving as foreman for final assembly. Later he was associate with Pangborn Corporation, where he worked until his illness.

He was the past governer of the Loyal Order of Moose here, and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Surviving, besides his wife, Ada Katherine, are sons Earl L. Stoner, Kenneth G. Stoner, both of Hagerstown; sisters, Mrs. Bertie Kemp, Hagerstown; Mrs. Eva Grove, Leitersburg; Miss Mollie Stoner, Waynesboro; Mrs. Nena Winters, Hagerstown; Mrs. Amy Winters, Hagerstown; brother, Arthur Stoner, Hagerstown; ; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Suter Funeral Home. The service will be held there Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Dr. L. Boyd Hamm officiating, with interment in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9:30 this evening.
