A former naval aviator himself, he never ceased in his efforts to tell the Navy story and bring top quality recruits to the U.S. Naval Service. An accomplished musician, he was the younger brother of actress Helen Mann, who passed away in 1947 at the age of 32. Although he had great talent and many contacts in the entertainment industry, he chose to pursue a more mainstream profession in the insurance business. Gordon was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Well-read, well dressed and impeccable in manner and speech.
