Mrs. Virginia Secessia Terry, widow of the late John Y. Terry, died Saturday evening at six o'clock in a Roanoke hospital at the age of seventy-eight years, after an extended illness.
She is survived by three children: Mr. Robert Terry of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mr. William Terry of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. O'Ferrall Thompson of Farmville, Virginia. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Josephine Read and Mrs. Janet W. Boyd of Wytheville; Mr. R. E. Withers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The funeral service was held yesterday morning at eleven o'clock from St. John's Episcopal Church, of which she had been an active and consistent member for many years, conducted by her Rector, the Rev. D. L. Gwathmey, D. D., assisted by her nephew, the Rev. Robert E. Withers of Farmville, Virginia. The interment followed in the East End Cemetery in the family square. The pall bearers were: Drs. Charles F. Graham and John O. Haller, Messrs. A. P. Terry, Marion S. Sanders, Thomas F. Walker and Heartwhel Terry.
