Brother of Ellisville Boy Who Lost Life in Plane Crash-Machine Overturns.


One person was killed....in holiday traffic accidents New Years' eve and yesterday in the St Louis area.


Charles Dale Burkhardt, 18 years old, of Ellisville, St Louis County, MO was killed early yesterday when the automobile he was driving overturned on a curve on County Highway B (109) two miles north of Eureka. Burkhardt was thrown from the machine. A passenger in his car, Miss Betty Brown, 16, of Eureka, was treated at the hospital of minor injuries and released.


Burkhardt was a brother of of Allen Burkhardt, 16, who was one of five persons killed last August (1948) when two small airplanes collided in the air over the Meramec River near Fenton MO. They were sons of Charles Burkhardt & Esther (Kesselring) Burkhardt of Ellisville.
