Virginia was the eldest of two children born to Jay S. Ecker and Ellen Daisy Brayton. She married Fred Inglewood Willis II,son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Inglewood Willis I, on 10 May 1930 in Indianapolis, Marion county, Indiana. They had two children:

1) Fred Inglewood III (b. 11 Oct 1931 in Washington, D.C.)
2) Carol Ann (1933-1940)
