It is not recommended any longer to use any type of product to rub on gravestones to be able to read the inscription. Even thought this appears to be flour on the gravestone, it will promote growth of lichen and moss which is not good for gravestones. Rain will not rinse this off. It has been carefully removed with clean water and a soft brush. 16 May 2020
