(Jane), Van Wert; a daughter, Jane (Jim) Poling, Convoy; a sister, Marilyn (Max) Frye, Van Wert; five grandchildren, Katie (Jason) Schnipke, Cloverdale, Kylie (Shane) Mills, Harlan, IN, Bryce Poling, Convoy, Amanda (Cody) Lape and Lauren Schmid, both Van Wert; and four great-grandchildren, Jamison Poling, Brooklynn Schnipke, Aubree Mills, Carson Lape.
Deceased is a sister, Esther Schumm.
He was a 1947 graduate of Wren High School and a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime farmer and retired from Continental Can Company – Sonoco in 1991 after 43 years of service. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Van Wert and the American Legion Post #207, Willshire.
Funeral services are at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. Philip Zielinski, officiating.
