Edward L. Ashbeck, 93, of Auburndale, died on Dec. 31, 2004, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Edward was born on March 5, 1911, in Milladore, to Joseph and Rose (Linhart) Ashbeck. He attended Milladore schools.

He was united in marriage to Veronica J. Kellnhofer on Oct. 6, 1936, at St. Kilian's.

He was a cheese maker and also farmed in the Milladore area his entire life.

His favorite hobbies were fishing and watching baseball.

Ed is survived by his wife, Veronica; children, Belva (Jim) Brandl of Rudolph, Roy (Marlene) Ashbeck of Loyal, Carol (Dale) DeSloover of Wisconsin Rapids, and Jim Ashbeck of New Auburn. He is further survived by eleven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Conrad; three sisters, Rose Stashek, Julia Lobner and Nora Linzmeier; and seven brothers, Alfred, John, Joe, Henry, Ray, Richard and Leo Ashbeck.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Kilian's Catholic Church in Blenker. The Rev. Edgar Haasl will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
