Mary was born May 18, 1927, in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late George M. and Laura Baker Scott. Mrs. Heiser was a member of Gettysburg United Methodist Church.
For several years she was employed at Green Acres in Gettysburg and for many years she worked for the Gettysburg Area School District Food Service Department.
Mary, along with her husband, owned and operated Heiser's Lawn Ornaments. Mrs. Heiser was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Heiser is survived by two sons, Edward Heiser, Jr. and his wife, Stephne of Gettysburg, and John Heiser and his wife, Mary of Boiling Springs; five grandchildren, Sherri Hansen, Stephanie Lingle, Shelly Warfield, Timothy Heiser, and Heather Heiser; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Scott of Aspers, and William Scott of Gettysburg; and three sisters, Anna Stull of McClure, Betty Chapman of Gettysburg, and Viola Little of Gettysburg.
Mary was predeceased by a son, James R. Heiser; two brothers, Harry Scott and Richard Scott; and a sister, Rose Rexroth.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, at 2 p.m. at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, with the Rev. Jay Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. There will be a viewing at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials can be made to Gettysburg United Methodist Church, 30 W. High St., Gettysburg, PA 17325.
