Born Nov. 9, 1931, in Lansford, PA to Andrew AND Elizabeth Lapos.
Col. Lapos had a distinguished military career, serving as a Navigator, Commander 3340 Tech Training Group, Chanute, AFB, IL
As Dir. of Instruction DoD Race Relations Institute, FL, Dir. USAF School for Social Actions Training, Dep. Commander/Dir. of the USAF Drug Abuse Rehab Center, TX.
He was highly decorated including the Legion of Merit for Exceptionally Meritorious Conduct, Air Medals for Meritorious Achievement while Participating in Aerial Flight in SE Asia, Bronze Service Stars, Combat Readiness Medal, and many more.
Served SE Asia during the Vietnam conflict.
He received MBA, was an amazing stained glass artist, (windows Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel, Thornton, CA & KofC #953 Hall) & a wooden toymaker.
Col. Lapos was generous with his volunteer time, love, talents. Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 953.
