Jacob Silver was the father-in-law of the legendary Frankie Stewart Silver, who died on the gallows for the murder of his 19-year-old son Charlie in 1833. Charlie was the only offspring of the Rev. Silver's marriage to his first wife, the former Elizabeth Wilson, who died in childbirth. He soon remarried, however, and had numerous children by his second wife.
