Alys Kuper Married to Tillamookian
At an impressive ceremony at Holy Redeemer church, the morning of Septermber 5, Miss Alys Kuper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kuper, became the bride of Anthony Rogers of Tillamook. Father F. A. Kohnen read the service. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dress of heavy white satin with full tulle veil caught about her head in a simple cap of the same material. She carried a shower bouquet of bouvardia and roses. Miss Elese Groesbeck was maid of honor, and little Ann Marie Buffam was flower girl. Raymond Kuper acted as bestman and ushers were Ronald and J. Neal Jiroch. Miss Catherine Kelly sang. Mrs. Lloyd Wilkes played the wedding music on the organ. A wedding breakfast follwed at the home of the bride's parents. Following a wedding trip south, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers will be at home in Tillamook.

A recitation of the rosary followed by a Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie for Alys M. Rogers, who died April 3 at age 87. Alys M. Kuper was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Portland. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy and was a homemaker. She had lived in Milwaukie since 1944. In 1938, she married Tony; he died in 1986. Survivors include her son, David; daughters, Sally and Therese; sisters, Helen Hergert, Virginia Bleske and Sister Mary Ruth Kuper; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Remembrances to the St. John the Baptist Conference of St. Vincent de Paul Society. Arrangements by Hennessey Goetsch & McGee.
