Lila Joyce (Thayer) Bell, a resident of Nice, CA passed peacefully Saturday, February 18, 2012, following a short battle with cancer.
Her sons and grandchildren were by her side. Lila was born in South Dakota, moved to California with her husband of 64 years, Albert L. Bell, and settled in Pacifica. Lila was a member of the Delmar Chapter OES in Pacifica for over 40 years and Bethel Guardian of Job's Daughters. She was a Past Matron of Delmar Chapter and Past Worthy Grand Matron of California, also a past Board Member of the Nice Volunteer Fire Department. Lila is survived by her beloved husband, Albert Bell; sons, Allen J. (Karen) Bell of Modesto, Michael L. (Danna) Bell Sr., and Dale R. Bell; four grandchildren, Michael L. (Anna) Bell Jr., Donald M. Bell, Bowen (Crystal) Bell, Jr., and Ryan A. Bell; six great-grandchildren, Travis Richard Bell, Bowen Richard Bell Jr., Alyssa Lelani Bell, Aryana Jewell Bell, Bryant Bell and Dustyn Bell. She is further survived by many wonderful friends and extended family. Preceded in death by her grandson, Jeramie A. Bell.
Lila was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 2 at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport.
