Bessie was born in Spartanburg, SC on February 12, 1901 to Andrew P and Alice Martha Adair Caldwell. She married (1) Frank Felthaus. They had four children. She married (2) Harry L Baumgardner. She was a member of St Lawrence Catholic Church and retired from Lerner Shops after 37 years. Bessie died in Fairview, Buncombe Co, NC on March 3, 2001, shortly after celebrating her 100th birthday.
