On April 22, 1879, Mary Etley married Eleazer Fenton Colbridge at the 20th St. M.E. Church in Philadelphia, Pa. Eleazer Colbridge was a butcher by trade and probably worked with Mary's father, William Etley who was also a butcher.
Together, Mary Etley and Eleazer Colbridge had three (3) children:
William Etley Colbridge (1879-1930)
Oliver Sawyer Colbridge (1884-1964)
Elsie M. (Colbridge) Trautz (1886-1960)
On March 4th, 1890, Mary's husband Eleazer Colbridge died of Tuberculosis.
On August 18, 1892, Mary (Etley) Colbridge married 2nd husband James K. Gilbert at a ceremony in Philadelphia, Pa. James Gilbert was a widower, who had been previously married to Mary's aunt, Sarah Etley (abt 1851-1891). On June 22, 1903, James Gilbert died, making Mary once again a widow.
Mary (Etley) Colbridge-Gilbert lived another 25 years, residing with her children William E. Colbridge, and Elsie (Colbridge) Trautz before passing on May 3, 1928 from Apoplexy (Stroke). She was interred at Fernwood Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pa, in the Gilbert family plot (Section 19, Lot 499) next to second husband James Gilbert.
