Sarah Jane Mongold Nickalls was born in Indiana, December 13, 1838. In her youth she was married to Mr. Allen B. Parsons on September 9, 1857 in Marshall County, Indiana. Four children were born to them—John, Martha, David and William. She came to Kansas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Mongold in 1869 and was married to Daniel Smith Nickalls in 1871. To this union 3 children were born—Nellie, Tommy and a baby; all died in 1880. Mrs. Nickalls united with the Methodist church when a girl.
Note: Grandson, Charles Wilbur Parsons, son of William H. Parsons, is buried at this cemetery.
