Lived Two Days After Swal-
lowing Poison.
Salem. Oct. 1.--Little Helen Van Winkle, the two-year-old daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. O. Van Winkle of this place, died yesterday as the result of eating the heads of off about nineteen sulphur matches. She swallowed the poisonous heads of the matches sometime Tuesday morng, but her parents knew nothing about it at the time, and it was not until along towards evening that she complained of being sick.
