Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the later Abner and Betty Smith Kirkland. She was a former textile employee and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cayce.
Surviving are a son, Edward L. Dye of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Dye Padgett of Cayce; two sisters, Mrs. Faris Mims of Columbia and Mrs. Lott Bryant of Winnsboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Plans will be announced by the Thompson Funeral Home.
