He was a mechanic for the past seven years for Jack Stoldt's Service Center. A lifelong resident of Springfield, Mr. Barger was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where he served as Eucharistic minister; served with Koinonia; participated in RCIA; and was a Boy Scout leader at the church.
Surviving are his wife, Karen M.; two daughters, both at home; a son, at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Barger of Springfield; grandparents, William and Alberta McClure of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Dallas (Vickie) Skelton of Broadwell, Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Grobelnik of Springfield and Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Boehs of Jacksonville; three brothers, Russell and Jack, both of Springfield, and Michael of Pekin; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with the Rev. John Ossola officiating. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
