Christina Marie Goyett, age 19 years, passed away suddenly on March 2, 2012. She was born on August 14, 1992 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Robyn (Schultz) and Jeffery Goyett and sister to Cameron. Chrissy was a 2010 graduate of John Glenn High School where she was a member of the swim and softball teams. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Chrissy currently attended Bowling Green State University where she was studying education and human development; she wanted to be a teacher like her mother and Ms. Klida, the teacher who cared. She also was an active member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Chrissy enjoyed campus life, her sorority sisters and coming home to visit.

Surviving family include her parents, Robyn and Jeff Goyett; her brother, Cameron; grandparents, Joyce and John Goyett; her boyfriend, Trent Szente; special friends, Gretchen and Rudy Velasquez, Dee and Meredith Bishop, Sarah Gruss and the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta; her many, many friends, cousins, facebook friends and her beloved beagles, Buddy and Bella and cat, Chloe. Chrissy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Geraldine and Robert Schultz and her Aunt, Jerilynn Schultz.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, 510 W. Ivy in Bay City. Pastor William H. Allwardt officiating. The family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 608 N. Madison Ave. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00a.m. until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Family of Christina Goyett.

BOWLING GREEN, OH (WNEM+AP) - Officials at Bowling Green State University report that a Bay City woman was one of three students killed in an automobile crash on I-75 early Friday morning.

Christina Goyett, 19, died in the crash that also injured two other sorority sisters and killed the wrong-way driver who police say caused it.

Goyett was a sophomore in the College of Education and Human Development and was a 2010 graduate of John Glenn High School.

The university says a wrong-way driver collided with the vehicle carrying five Alpha Xi Delta women's fraternity sisters. Also killed were Rebekah Blakkolb, 20, of Aurora, OH, and Sarah Hammond, 21, of Yellow Springs, OH.
