The News and Courier, Sunday, Dec 26, 1954:

Andrews-Orinda Charlene Etheridge, four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond D. Etheridge of the Puncheon Creek section of Georgetown County, was instantly killed at 2:45 p.m. Friday when she was hit by a car while crossing the road in front of her home.

Investigating officers said that she was struck by a car driven by Julius Connelly Jr., a neighbor, and that her father, who was an eye witness, said that the accident was clearly unavoidable.

Coroner John A Broach said that the verdict of a coroner's jury was that the child died of injuries received in an unavoidable accident.
