Hiram m. Nancy Ann Gaddie 30 November 1854, Taylor Co., KY.
Hiram J. Underwood was a Pvt. Co. A, 13 KY Inf (Union); enlisted 28 Oct. 1861; discharged 12 Jan. 1865. He applied for a pension in 1890, residing in Grayson Co., TX.
They had the following children: 1. Gaddie Winfield Underwood, b. 4 June 1857; d. 23 May 1932, Whitesboro, Grayson Co., TX. He was widower at the time of his death. He is buried in the Ben Dye Cemetery, Whitesboro, Grayson Co., Texas; Memorial 28053113.

3. Henry Underwood, b. 1864
4. Clinton Kilbert Underwood, b. 1866
5. Lorenzo Underwood, b. 1869
6. Eliza Ann Underwood, b. 1871

9. Moss O. Underwood, b. April 1880
All the children were born in Taylor Co., KY.
There is an 1880 U.S. Census for Kentuckytown, Grayson Co., TX listing a H.J. Underwood, 46 yrs, b. 1834 KY and Clinton Underwood, 14 yrs, b. 1866 KY. H.J. is married and a farmer. His parents were born in NC.
Hiram and Clinton came out to TX first before the rest of the family appeared. See Nancy's memorial for where she and the other children are located in 1880 (still in KY).
