THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 09, 2003: 'HOUSTON, Cheraye Wooten Harris, 40, of Houston, previously of Paris, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Houston. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lewis Lyons officiating. She was born Nov. 1, 1962, in Paris to the parentage of Sarah Bills and the late Dean Spurlock. She was affiliated with the Baptist religion. She received her bachelor's and master's degree in education. She had taught at Paris High School and the Devereux School in League City. Survivors include her husband, Donald Harris of Paris; sons, Dale Swan, Reginald Harris, and Dexter Harris, all of Paris, and Roderick Harris of Houston; mother, Sarah Bills of Paris; bothers, Randy Wooten, Raymond Wooten and Johnny Bills, all of Paris; sisters, Latricia Wooten-Thomas, Carnell Bills and Sybil Bills, all of Paris.'
