Louise Annabelle Grimsley, 95, of Topeka, died February 23, 2012 at her home where she had lived since 2006. Louise lived in Iowa until 1973 at which time she and her family moved to Altamont, Kansas.

She was born in Gorham, Maine on July 19, 1916 the daughter of Howard and Alice (Berry) Libby. Louise was a graduate of Gorham High School.

Louise and her husband were farmers. She attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, square dancing, traveling and cats.

She married Gail Grimsley in Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Morris and her husband Kenneth, a son, Bryce Grimsley and his wife Darlene, and five grandchildren, Jennifer (Nicholas) Bralley, Shawn (Amy) Grimsley, Kimberly (Ben) Cole, Alexander Morris and Steven Morris and five great grandchildren.

Louise will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. on Friday where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1329 SW 37th St. Graveside services will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont, Kansas on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Cares Hospice and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
