GLORIA ROSE BRINSMADE followed her husband, Alan B. Brinsmade of 62 years in death on the 6th of October 2009. Dr. Brinsmade preceded her in death on the 11th of July 2009.Gloria was born on the 29th of December 1927, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Selma MaryLippert Wallentine and Axel V. Wallentine, a well known artist in the Midwest area. She attended high school in Madison, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin where she me her husband, Alan. During the course of her husbands medical education, they lived in several locations in Europe, South America, Ireland, and finally settling in Houston to set up practice. She spoke several languages and loved to produce the cuisine of many countries which she did with elegance and expertise. To be invited to her home was a very special culinary treat. She was best known for her beauty, elegance, hearty laugh and loyalty to her many friends. She lit up any room she entered. Gloria is survived by her sister, Nell Gwyn Epler; two nieces, Gloria Patrice Laskey and Selma May Murray; one nephew, Robert Patrick Schwarz; son-in-law, Adam Murray, all of Portland,Oregon. Gloria is also survived by many nieces and nephews on the Brinsmade side of the family. A memorial service will be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 24th of October in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
