She was born April 9, 1981, at Mattoon, the daughter of John and Luenda Rodgers Belk. She married Jason D. Smith. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Jeannie was employed as a caregiver in home healthcare.
Surviving are her husband, Jason Smith of Springfield, IL; sons: Quentin and Gavin Smith; daughters: Gabrielle and Alexis Smith; parents, John "Jay" and Luenda "Lu" Belk of Taylorville, IL; brother, James Matich of Niantic, IL; sisters: Angela Belk of Virginia and Amanda Belk of Taylorville, IL; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Pastor Jim Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Buckhart. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
