There is no absolute knowledge that such an individual exists but based on South Carolina Federal Census, Orangeburg District for 1790 (John), 1800 (Christopher) and 1810 (Mary) in the same locations with two sons and the same neighbors, it is felt by various family researchers that this likely is the father and mother of two DNA documented close relatives, most likely brothers, William and Joseph who have been previously connected based on other known genealogical facts of history about the two brothers.

DNA Update Aug 2015: About a year ago, the Peters DNA Project produced a 35/37 marker match to William Peters (father of John Daniel Peters) and his brother, Joseph Peters. This match is a descendant of Jesse Peters, born 1753 Craven Co., North Carolina. This is significant news since Jesse Peters has proven brothers, Solomon Peters, and Elijah Peters. Solomon Peters and Elijah Peters were Revolutionary War veterans whose records show they were born in North Carolina, as was Jesse Peters. Solomon Peters owned land in the Forks of the Edisto River area as early as 1774, possibly living there for some period of time. Elijah Peters lived in the same area of Orangeburg District in the 1790 census. Solomon Peters' 1817 Last Will and Testament in Kershaw Co., South Carolina named his brothers Jesse and Elijah Peters. John Christopher Peters, if a near cousin or brother, had died in 1809. Elijah Peters died about 1819 in Georgia and his brother, Jesse Peters, administered his estate.

The DNA Kits involved in this significant match are:

Haplogroup G, Lineage 1

Kit # 254397 Jesse Peters, b. 1753 and d. 1839.
