Wilma Jean Wright
BURNETTSVILLE — Wilma Jean Wright, 87, Burnettsville, died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at IU Arnett Health Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Cass County, to the late Frank and Tillie McLeland Fisher. Her marriage was to Charles E. Wright on June 26, 1943, in Burnettsville. He preceded her in death April 30, 2004.
She was a former member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church in Idaville. She was a 1942 graduate of Burnettsville High School and was a Burnettsville cheerleader during her junior and senior years of high school. She was county cheerleading champion two years in a row. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed watching Purdue basketball, quilting, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol J. (Don Jr.) Potts, Delphi; two sons, Thomas R. (Joyce) Wright, Louisville, and Stephen E. (Kay) Wright, Zionsville; two sisters, Martha Duffey, Burnettsville, and Sharon (Dan) Lowring, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a great-grandson and a brother, Frank Fisher Jr. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello with the Rev. Ernie Elder officiating. Burial will be in Seceeder Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
