William M. Littell, 81, of Martinsville passed from this life on Tuesday, March 6th, 2012 at his residence surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born in Indiana on January 1, 1931 to the late Robert and Sidelia Edith (Pettit) Littell.
Bill, as he was known, spent his life in Morgan County. He was a self-employed general contractor for many years and owner of Littell & Sons in Martinsville.
On February 14, 1954 he married Florence (Forrester) Littell. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2008.
He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and V.F.W., both in Martinsville. He enjoyed woodworking, reading and playing cards.
He is survived by a host of loving family including his three sons, Richard "Dickie" (wife, Lisa) Arnold, Ed (wife, Vicky) Littell and James (wife, Tammi) Littell all of Martinsville; three daughters, Judy Lane and Pam (husband, David) Roe both of Martinsville and Terrie (husband, Marc) Konijnenberg of Holland; one sister, Judy (husband, Stanley) Payton of Martinsville; 20 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Michael Ray Littell; two brothers, Robert & Donald Littell and one sister, Frances Prather.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service celebrating his life on Friday, March 9th at 10:00 a.m. at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville. Military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion and V.F.W. honor guard.
