Ralph A. Dennis, born in Charles Town, W. Va., passed away on Wednesday, May 27. He was the husband of Hazel I. (Pryor) Dennis and the oldest son of Essie V. (Sowers) Dennis Childress and the late Oscar Dennis. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Arthur D. Childress and his sister Hazel V. Kemp, all of Hagerstown, Md, and a brother Wilbert E. Dennis of Henderson, North Carolina. In addition to his father, Ralph was preceded in death by sister, Edna Dennis Taylor, and brother, Woodrow M. Dennis.

Note: Ralph's Birth Record indicates that his given name at the time of his birth was Abner Ralph, though he always went by Ralph...and his grave marker uses the "A" as a middle initial. Since records were not always 100% accurate at the time he was born, it's anybody's guess...not that it probably even matters. But Abner Ralph and Ralph Abner are the same person. (He was my Uncle Ralph.)
