Williams Pioneer Will Be Buried At 2 o'clock Friday
Funeral services over the remains for late William Thomas Kidd, pioneer resident of Williams, who died at the Woodland sanitarium yesterday, will be held at the Williams cemetery where interment will take place at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
William T. Kidd was born in Nelson County, Virginia, June 7th, 1849, and spent his boyhood life on the farm in West Virginia.
He came to Mendocino county, California in 1875 and a year later took up residence in the Williams section of Colusa county and started to climb the ladder of success as a farm hand. Later he became one of the largest grain dealers in this same district, being very successful in renting land for grain farming. The Stanley ranch, Wakefield ranch, Lee Welch ranch, the Crocker ranch and others were developed by Mr. Kidd.
he was elected a supervisor of Colusa county on the democratic ticket in 1896 and served a term of four years. The Sacramento river bridge at Colusa and the Leesville grade road were accomplished under his supervision.

W.T. Kidd, Former Supervisor Dies
William Thomas Kidd of Williams, former supervisor, died yesterday morning at Woodland. He was taken to Woodland Tuesday for medical attention but was in a comatose condition, a sufferer from diabetes.
He was seventy-five years old. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Waverly Brown of Colusa and Mrs. Florence DeCamp of Shreveport, Lousiana.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon under the direction of Sullivan Brothers. The ceremonies will be held at the Williams Cemetery.
