Don was in the Merchant Marines and the Coast Guard. He spent time in lighthouses and also worked in a submarine. Don had several lighthouses and the one in this picture was in Maine near Bath. He was the only one taking care of it. He also worked on a coast guard boat, which he took care of after he left the lighthouse. He was in the CG 23 years and retired from it. Then he tended bar at "The Moose," in Bath Maine.
He was married twice and had four children. His son Mark is deceased.
