Richard C. "Rick" Dilliner, Sr., 85, died Monday afternoon, March 5, 2012 at Tendercare of Marshall. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on March 31, 1926 the son of Jesse R. and Julia E. (Connley) Dilliner and attended St. Philip Catholic Central. Rick faithfully served his country during WWII as a member of the United States Navy in the South Pacific. He retired from ALRO Steel in 1996 after more than 26 years of service. Rick married Margie (Huntley) Miller in Olivet on March 31, 1997; she survives. He is also survived by his son, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-sons, one of Constantine and one of Oregon; 3 step-daughters, one of Constantine, one of Mason and one of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and special friends, of Potterville and of Olivet. Rick was preceded in death by his first wife, Winnifred and a son, Charles Dilliner. Rick enjoyed riding his motorcycle, flower gardening and spending time with his family. A loving and giving man, he truly "Loved the Lord" and desired to share things with the less fortunate who experience loss through natural disasters. At the request of the family, they will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Rick's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Brown, officiating. Interment will follow at Bedford Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the Parkinson's Foundation. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
