MY ATWATER FAMILY
Son of Ebenezer & Abigail (Heaton) Atwater and grandson of my immigrant ancestor, DAVID and DAMARIS (SAYRE) ATWATER. He married Dinah, daughter of John Sherman, on July 12, 1722 in New Haven. She died in 1739, and he married second Elizabeth Alling on March 4, 1740.
Their home was on State Street between Crown St. & George St. His son James Atwater, Jr. (born October 12, 1724) was taken prisoner in the Revolutionary War and was never heard from again.
