Caroline Kittredge Weeks, wife of
Walter E. Jewett of Woodsville, died at
their home there, Monday afternoon,
having been ill with gastritis for about
two months. She was born at St.Johnsbury Center
29 years ago last October, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Hiram Weeks, her mother dying when
she was only about two years old. She
attended the Academy graduating in the
class of 1891. On April 24, 1900 she
was married to Walter E. Jewett, and
they continued to make their home here
for a while, later moving to Woodsville,
their present home. Mrs. Jewett's death
saddens many friends in St. Johnsbury,
as she was a most lovable and cheerful
young lady, and as her home had been
here until within a very short time she
had a large circle of friends and acquain
tances, all of whom held her in deepest
and loving respect. Besides her husband,
she is survived by two brothers. C. B.
Weeks of Chicago, Gordon C. Weeks of
this town, one sister, Mrs. T. C. Stevens
of Blair, Nebraska, and her father, who
is very low at the home of his son Gordon.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the home of Dr. J. M. Allen, and interment will be
at St. Johnsbury Center. Rev. Edward
T. Fairbanks will officiate.
