Abner Adams was not born in 1745 as stated on the NYS Historical marker identifying the Abner Adams Cemetery in Otsego County. He was born 5 NOV 1735 in CT to parents Isaac Adams and Eleanor Fassett.
He married Abigail Hubbard in CT in 1761. They had five known children, all born in CT.
Abner Adams served as a soldier in the CT Line during the Revolution. He served under Col Israel Putnam as a Ranger and took part in the Battle of White Plains. He saw service in other battles and was taken prisoner by the British in LI.
He came with his family to Otsego County NY after the Revolution.
