Rites at Sardinia For Resident, 75

Leslie R Albert, 75, a resident of the Sardinia community for over 25 years, passed away at 7 a.m. today at the Bartholomew County hospital at Columbus. In ill health for the past six months, he had been taken to the hospital last Tuesday.

Mr Albert was born at Warrensburg, Ill, on October 19, 1872, and had spent his youth in that community. He was the son of George and Mattie Richey Albert. His first marriage was to Garnet Rhine Heimer, of Winchester, who died in Illinois many years ago. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs Leslie (Katherine) Sears,of Terre Haute.

On November 10, 1921, he was married to Maude Grayson, of Sardinia, after which he had resided there. He was a member of the Sardinia Baptist church and widely known in that community.

Besides the widow and the daughter, he is survived by a brother, C B Albert, of Warrensburg, Ill; two sisters, Mrs Bertha Biddle, of Warrensburg, Ill, and Mrs W J Jonson, of Decatur, Ill; and a stepdaughter, Mrs Ailene Anderson, of Decatur, Ill.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday (CST) at the Sardinia Baptist church. The Rev Roy McClain, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Westport cemetery. The body is at the Hostetler funeral home in Westport, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday.
