FUNERAL OF MRS. MILLER
Remains Tenderly Laid to Rest Yesterday by Sorrowing Friends.
Mrs. Emmet Miller, who died Saturday evening at the home of her father, on McGregor and Mound Streets, was tenderly laid to rest at Park Cemetery yesterday afternoon. the funeral was held at 4 p.m. at the Christian church, and was conducted by Rev. W A Oldham, with the assistance of Dr. J. W. Stewart. There were numerous beautiful floral offerings, whoose meaning and expression of sympathy were no less appreciated by the sorrowing relatives than were the continued kindness and attention shown by neighbors and friends during the sickness.
the pall bearers were six young ladies selected by the deceased before she died, namely, Misses Delia and Laura Cox, Sadie Merton, Laura Eaker, Minnie Hiatt and Mrs. Era Loehr. There were assisted by Jesse Ivers and Ira Williams.
The unusually sad feature of the death is the fact that the deceased had only been married 3 months and 16 days. She was 22 years of age and moved here from Carter's Creek, Indiana three years ago with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Higdon. she was a faithful member of the Christian Church and well known to a large circle of friends as Miss Lillie Higdon. three weeks after her wedding she was taken with her last illness and has been at the point of death for the last month. she suffered patiently through it all and was faithfully attended to by Drs. Brooks, Freed and Thomas, who did all that medical and surgical skill could to save her life.
