A native of Castle Rock, CO, he was born Dec 20 1915 to George Lynn and Eva O'Brien Nixon and had lived in Reno since 1949, coming from California.
Nixon was a maintenance supervisor for the city of Reno at the airport and was an aircraft mechanic for the Air National Guard. He was a private first class in the Army Air Forces during World War II.
His first wife Rosamond died in Jan 1966; his second wife Wanda died in July 1966 (this is a typo in the newspaper, Wanda died in 1976).
Surviving are his daughter Linda Nixon of Redding, CA; sons Larry, Jeff and Jason, all of Reno and Greg of Carson City; brothers Warren of Long Beach, CA and Grant of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren."
