Son of Robert Earl Bell and Alice Jane Moore.
Obituary:
One of the saddest funerals ever held in New London was that of Clifton Bell, which was held Sunday morning, the only service that at the grave, on account of the quarantine on the home. The family was not even permitted to follow their dear one to his last resting-place.
As the hearse with its burden left the home, halted by the music of a gramophone, that played four beautiful selections, beginning with "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and closing with "God be with you till we meet again". Proceeding to the cemetery, where Rev. J.W. Ellis, pastor of the Christian Church, conducted brief services.
Francis "Clifton" Bell was afflicted since infancy, with that dread disease Spinal Meningitis, from the effects of which he never recovered. When about two weeks before his death, he took the measles, the complication of the two diseases was too much for the frail constitution and he passed away peacefully at his home.
Throughout all his years of suffering and his final sickness, he won the admiration of all by his patience and cheerfulness.
His dear form and cheerful smile will be sadly missed, but we will not despair as we know that he has only left his earthly home for a brighter one with Him, who said "Suffer little children to come unto Me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."
