Edward R. "Eddie" Heffel, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 1, at the Russell Hospital. Born in Russell Feb. 3, 1911 to Reinhardt and Eva (Keller) Heffel at Russell and was a lifetime resident. He worked for Hollinger Drug Store and operated home improvement business in Russell until he retired about 10 years ago. He married Esther Fink Sept. 4, 1931, at Lyons.

They had one son, Edward H. Heffel Jr. of Phillipsburg who survives along with his widow. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren: Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Joyce) Heffel; and Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Cindy) Stremel, all of Hays; and 2 gt. grandchildren, Steven Stremel and Kelly Marie Heffel. His parents and sister, Mrs. Frieda Danielson preceded him.

Funeral at Clines All-Faith Chapel in Russell with Rev. Merle Horner. Burial at St. John's cemetery. Memorials to First Baptist Church in Russell.
