Meetze, died at 3:30 yesterday afternoon at her home, 1308 Blanding street, after an illness of 10 days. She was a member of one of Columbia's oldest families and her friends were shocked to learn of her death, she being in good health just a few weeks ago. Mrs. Meetze was a fine woman, always manifesting a deep interest in the charitable work of the city. In Ebenezer Lutheran church she was a very useful and consecrated worker, identified with all of the interests of the congregation. She leaves a son. Mr. A. M. Meetze, and the following brothers and sisters; J. M. Caughman, James Caughman, B. L. Caughman. Mrs. Solomon Roberts, Mrs. Baxter Hendrix, Mrs. James. E. Rawl. Mrs. W. W. Barre, Mrs. Amanda Keisler. The funeral will be conducted from Ebenezer church at 5 o'clock this afternoon.
The following from the 18th: The funeral yesterday of Mrs. J. A. Meetze was largely attended and the floral offerings were many and handsome. The services were conducted at Ebenezer Lutheran church at 5 o'clock in the afternoon by Mrs. Meetze pastor, Rev. Mr. Freed. The church was filled with the friends of the deceased, but at Elmwood cemetery, where the interment took place, and even larger number were present to join in paying a tribute of love and respect to the memory of this good woman. The active pallbearers were: Dr. J. J. Watson, E. E. Douglas, A. G. Douglas, Dr. H. F. Collier, F. G. Tompkins, William Watson, J. B. Sylva and W. S. Stewart. Honorary pallbearers: James Graham, J.
