Joyce Diana Striker, 79, of South Buffalo Township, passed on peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was born June 3, 1930, in Harrison Township, daughter of the late Richard Welsh, Elmira (Salkeld) Welsh Hogg and stepfather who raised her, Robert Hogg. She lived most of her life in South Buffalo Township. She owned and operated Diana's Antiques in South Buffalo Township and Verona for a number of years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Natrona Heights, The Rebeccas, Genealogy Society of Tarentum, and graduated from Har Brack High School in 1949. She enjoyed her family and friends, genealogy, her card club, swimming, cooking, baking, antiques, was a bibliophile - an avid reader - and enjoyed camping, gardening and flowers. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, George R. Striker; daughter, Cynthia G. Striker, at home, and Darlene J. (Stanley) Colcombe, of South Buffalo Township; grandsons, Shawn P. Norris, of Brackenridge, Noel L. Norris, of Allegheny Township, and Heath R. Singer, of Freeport; granddaughters, Georgina D. (Steven) Adsitt, of Lancaster, and Heather J. (Bryan) Vaughan, of Buffalo Township; three great-grandsons, Brandon Michael, Logan Tyler and Mason Hunter; and brother, Richard (Pearl) Welsh, of Ohio. Besides her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte C. Hogg. At the request of the family, there will be no public viewing.
