William Allen
William Allen, 65, of 829 E. Third St., a lifelong city resident, died Saturday morning in Washington Manor Nursing Home, Dayton, where he had been for several weeks.
Born in Xenia to Leon and Mammie Evans Allen on July 10, 1908, Mr. Allen had been employed in maintenance work.
He is survived by his widow, the former Mammie Howard; three sons, William, Phillip and Melvin Allen, all of Dayton; a daughter, Miss Ethel Mae Allen of Dayton; a brother, Algernon Allen of Jamestown; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Williamson of Toledo and Mrs. Hannah Washington of Xenia, and a grandchild.
The Rev. W.W. Wilson will officiate at 11 a.m. services Thursday at McLin Funeral Home, 335 E. Market St. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. during 4-9 p.m. visitation Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cmetery.
