Florine R. Schmidt, 96, Plainville, died Friday, March 9, 2012, at Rooks County Health Center, Plainville. She was born Dec. 26, 1915 in Victoria to John M. and Catherine (Sanders) Rome.
She married Samuel H. Neyland. He preceded her in death Sept. 1945. She later married Marcellus Schmidt on May 20, 1947, in Ellis County.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda A. Horst, Denver; a son, Kenn Neyland; a sister, Elizabeth Leikam, Hays; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; inurnment in St. Fidelis Catholic Cemetery, Victoria. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Rooks County Health Center in care of Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 409 S. Cochran, Plainville, KS 67663.
