CLARENCE EDWARD CASTELLO
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, he was born March 4, 1901, in Slaughter. He died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at the age of 98 at The Guest House. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. He was a retired employee of Exxon Co. USA since 1957, having started his career in the marine division at Exxon on the towboat Sprague and finished as chief engineer on the Jack Rathborn. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Ethel Lanoux Castello; and two daughters, Ruth Castello Bourgeois and Joy Castello Chance and their husbands, Floyd Bourgeois and Wayne Chance. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Pam Bourgeois Glover, Melanie Bourgeois Best, Stephanie Bourgeois Miranda, J. Richard Chance, Michael B. Chance, Randall J. Chance, Leslie Chance Henriquez, Barbara Chance Walker and, Gregory W. Chance and their respective spouses. He had 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Chance, Randy Chance,Barry Glover, Charles Miranda, Derek Glover and Jimmy Best.
