She was born in Fairfield, Adams County, PA., daughter of the late Charles "Herbert" and Amanda Marie (Smith) McGlaughlin.
Her early life was lived in Fairfield, PA., and the greater part of her life in Highfield, MD.
Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Stevens United Church of Christ.
She is survived by the following children, Mrs. Gladys Huff, Thomas Brown, both of Blue Ridge Summit; Herbert Brown and Charles (Lee) Brown, both of Highfield; Mrs Edna Dixon, Chewsville; Mrs. Pauline Hahn, Smithsburg Rt.2; Mrs. Joyce Hays, Mechanicsburg, Rt 1; 16 grandchildren, four step grandchildren and one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Minnie Warren, and Lawrence McGlaughlin, and Ira McGlaughlin, all of Highfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wachter (Pete) Brown; one daughter Mary Geraldine (Gerry) Brown.
Funeral services wii be held Saturday at 2 p,m. from the Germantown Bethel Church of God, the Rev. C.H. Corl officiating. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Friday evening 7-9 or at the church prior the services on Saturday.
